How to reupholster like a beginner- Part one.

Well where do I start? Lets go back a few days, to when I found a curved lounge on FB market place. The obligatory dimly lit photo, at the most awkward angle of what looked like a pink lounge with 90's chrome legs, caught my eye. 🤣
Quick search on Pinterest and my DIY juices where running. The photo of a gorgeous velvet curved lounge came across my feed and this old sofa looked ripe for the hacking. Sadly that one was snapped up quick. I got searching and this gorgeously blue sofa was found. This one is more manageable at a smaller two seater size. A quick drive and she was mine. Other than its very VERY bright blue colour, this old girl is in great condition. The lady that I bought it off had a concerned look in her eye when she showed me the very minor water stain on the edge. I reassured her it wouldn't matter. She didnt know it yet but her 90's lounge was getting an upgrade.
So what's the plan? A couple of days ago I posted a story on Insta with a couple of polls. Velvet or boucle? You guys loved the boucle option and I don't blame you, it is stunning!! For me I think I'm leaning toward the velvet version. I just feel it wont date as quickly as boucle might. I definitely want to make a boucle slip cover I think. At least then I can change up the look of it when I feel.
👇This colour has my heart in every tone.
The shape isn't quite the same but I think we can work with what we've got.
And now your all caught up.
It's been many years since my blogging days. Up until recently I thought blogging was dead but here I am giving it another go. I hope to share more of the things I love doing and maybe tutorials in the future. I still have my small business going so please forgive me if there is no new content for a while. In the meantime I have a date with 1,562,456 staples.
Until next time lovely. 😊
